New Flinders Lane restaurant designed to “captivate and inspire” – hospitality

A new Asian fusion restaurant has opened on Flinders Lane, promising a “sensory journey” for visitors.

The restaurant, Lexy, is the brainwork of Owner and Chef Ken Leung, who is known for his first restaurant Cha Ching in Melbourne.

Leung has taken his vision further with Lexy by creating an immersive space that celebrates culinary artistry and connection.

“Lexy is designed to be a sensory journey. From the moment you walk in, every element is meant to captivate and inspire, making each visit feel like an event,” says Leung.

The menu at Lexy, guided by Head Chef Oak Kunnalok is where “bold flavours meet culinary storytelling”. It draws on diverse Asian traditions, reimagining classics with creativity.

Designed for sharing, and with a fire-led cooking style, the menu fuses traditional and contemporary technique. Highlight dishes include Lexy’s seafood platter, X.O rock lobster, truffle mushroom dumplings, seared black cod, Margaret River 250g Wagyu Flank M9, and creme brulee espuma.

“This menu is about storytelling through flavour,” says Chef Kunnalok. “Every dish brings something familiar but with a bold new twist. It’s built to be shared, talked about, and remembered.”

In addition to the à la carte offering, there is also a variety of dining options including the multi-course set menu option “the Lexy flight banquet” experience, designed to take guests on a journey through the kitchen’s signature highlights. A three-course express lunch menu is available Tuesday to Friday.

The restaurant also caters to group bookings and private events with a range of custom banquet menus, including vegetarian options, designed to suit celebrations, functions or long-table dinners.

The bar programme champions a zero-waste philosophy and highlights seasonality and technique. The drinks list features inventive cocktails, rare spirits, and a rotating selection of sake.

The venue seats 80 guests, including a private dining enclave for intimate celebrations and a four-seat chef’s table nestled at the open kitchen counter, offering front-row access to the culinary action.

Lexy at 377 Flinders Lane is open Tuesday to Saturday.
