Local restaurants are joining forces with DineSmart this month, for a national campaign to support people experiencing homelessness.
Diners across Melbourne and Sydney can add a $2 donation to their bill, with every donations staying local, and supporting grassroots organisations that provide food relief, housing support, domestic violence assistance, and more.
Participating venues include the likes of Tipo 00, Farmer’s Daughters, and Cafe Sydney.
Over the past two decades, the DineSmart campaign has has raised $4.4 million and distributed 1,151 grassroots grants to help thousands of people. This year marks the final year of the campaign, concluding a 23-year legacy of bringing together restaurants, cafes, and diners across Australia to raise funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness.
To get involved people can simply pick a DineSmart restaurant and let their server know they would like to add a $2 donation.
