Orange Food Week, Australia’s longest-running regional food festival, is set to feature more “flavour-packed” events than ever in 2026.
Taking place in March, Food Week President Charlotte Gundry says visitors should get in early to secure their spot for their favourite event.
“With more flavour-packed events than ever, the premier food and wine region will be abuzz this year with many visitors opting to stay on longer throughout the week,” says Gundry.
“Ten days, six signature events, and a fabulous array of satellite events at local venues including an outstanding lineup of weekday events will keep the festival atmosphere flowing throughout.”
She says all events incorporate local produce, celebrating the story of Orange’s food and wine.
“This is the year to delve deeper and get to the heart of Food Week,” she adds.
Meet the producer workshops
Featuring a series of show, tell, and taste workshops, Gundry says these make the perfect Christmas present for a foodie.
The workshops highlight the flavours of the region’s produce, with something to tick the box for everyone from Sunday 22 March to Friday 27 March.
“Local producers, alongside local chefs and cooks, create food conversations and share their stories, tips, tricks, and samples,” says Gundry.
“Learn about the produce, hear the stories, share recipes, and taste delicious samples.”
Sunday 22 March: Cheese and fermentation
Monday 23 March: Miso, mushrooms, and wine
Tuesday 24 March: Orcharding, homegrown preserves and curry paste
Thursday 26 March: Olive oil and good earth – the holistic approach
Friday 27 March: Saffron and gourmet preserves
Other event highlights include the night market in Roberston Park; the Sampson Street lunch; and the food train – a three-day guided trip from Sydney to Orange.
The forage event, held on the second Saturday of the event, includes a four kilometre scenic trail where people can sample local wines and dishes crafted by some of the region’s best chefs.
The Food Week experience finishes on Sunday 29 March with the producers market and brunch, which includes a range of market stalls.
